Gilda’s Club NYC was founded by Katherine Hoffman in the year 2000. Katherine’s world was upturned when she discovered her mum, whom she adores, was diagnosed with cancer. With time, she quit her job after five years of working in an investment company to look after her mum and take her to chemotherapy sessions.
Unfortunately, Katherine’s mum didn’t make it, and since her death, Katherine has devoted her time to advocating for people with chronic diseases. She’s focused on ensuring that people survive chronic diseases with the right resources and support.
Our mission is to support people with chronic diseases by providing resources, tools, and emotional support to them and their caregivers.
We’re working towards achieving a world where chronic disease patients can access the best care and support to extend their life span. To that effect, we’re regularly conducting researches on the best care management methods.
